Create A Class
Quick start guide to setting up your first class in Classroom Hero
After signing up, the first step is to create a class. Classes are where you’ll add students, set up positive and negative actions, and build your marketplace.
Create Your First Class
To create a class, click “Create Class” in the side menu.

Class Name and Logo
In the Class Create Wizard, enter a class name (for example, “My 5th Grade Class”) and optionally upload a class logo. If you’re part of a school, you can also transfer the class to your school right away. To learn more about Schools in Classroom Hero, visit our school help guide (link).

Setup Your Classroom Currency
Next, you’ll set up your classroom currency. This is the virtual “points” students earn for positive actions, and the same points they’ll spend in your marketplace. To learn more about the marketplace, see the marketplace docs (link).
Choose from one of our preset currencies, or upload your own. Enter a name for your currency, then click “Next.”

Add Students to Your Class
Next, you’ll be prompted to add students to your class. You can enter students one at a time, or paste a list to save time. You can add or remove students at any time after the class is created.

Create Positive / Negative Actions and Items for your marketplace.
In the last step, you can create Positive Actions, Negative Actions, and marketplace items. Like students, you can customize all of this later—feel free to skip this step for now and use one of our pre-made templates.
- Positive Actions can be any behavior or task you want students to complete to earn points and level up.
- Negative Actions are behaviors or actions that cause students to lose points.
- Items are rewards students can purchase with their points (for example, a new pencil or extra recess time). If you already have a classroom marketplace, you can recreate it in Classroom Hero.

That’s it—you’re all set to start using your new classroom reward system!
